One energy landscape.

Residential rooftop solar

A clear starting point for homeowners exploring whether rooftop solar suits their property and energy use.

Custom-coloured solar panels can be specified to suit the property's visual context.

Commercial and industrial solar

A structured route for higher-load sites evaluating solar within operational, engineering and commercial constraints.

Custom-coloured solar panels can be specified to suit the site's visual context.

Battery and energy storage

A smarter way to manage power when the grid goes down, reduce peak-hour costs and lower maximum demand charges. For businesses considering a diesel generator, solar with battery storage can offer a cleaner, quieter and more efficient long-term investment.

Where solar forms part of the system, WES can also specify custom-coloured panels.

Keep the essentials running.

Designed around your priorities. Lithium batteries can power heavy appliances like your mixer, refrigerator and air conditioner, with no routine maintenance required compared to traditional lead-acid batteries.

  • Store available energyThe battery can recharge when solar or grid power is available, ready for use when it is needed.
  • Respond to an outageWhen grid supply stops, the system can continue supporting the loads selected for backup.
  • Designed around your prioritiesBattery capacity and expected backup duration depend on the property, available generation and the loads being powered.

From the very first meeting, the team patiently answered all my questions and made sure I was comfortable with every step of the process. They took care of all the documentation work, which made my life easier. I also got the Government subsidy directly in my account. I will recommend WES Energy to our friends and family.

Our Process

Initial consultation

The first conversation establishes who the customer is, how the property uses electricity and what the project should achieve. Recent bills, load patterns and site constraints are collected so the next step starts with real information rather than assumptions.

Site assessment

An engineer reviews the property in person: roof condition and orientation, shading through the day, electrical infrastructure and the space available for equipment. The visit confirms what the first conversation suggested and records anything that would change the design.

System proposal

The findings become a specific recommendation: system size, equipment selection, layout and the commercial terms attached to them. The proposal states what is included and what remains open, so the decision rests on clear information.

Installation and commissioning

The agreed system is installed, wired and tested against its design. Commissioning checks that every component operates as specified before the system is handed over in a documented operating state.

Ongoing support

After handover the relationship continues with monitoring, maintenance and a named route for questions or faults. Coverage and response expectations are stated in writing, so the customer always knows who to contact and when.

It starts with a conversation.

Share a recent electricity bill and the WES Energy team will map this path for your property, from the first assessment through handover and support.

Filter frequently asked questions
What is a rooftop solar system?
The set of components that turns sunlight into usable electricity: solar panels, an inverter, mounting structures, AC and DC cabling, combiner boxes, earthing and connectors.
How does a rooftop solar system work?
Sunlight on the panels’ PV cells generates DC electricity, and the inverter converts it to usable AC power. The supply passes through a bidirectional meter: it powers the property first, exports surplus to the grid and imports whenever generation falls short.
How do I know whether solar suits my property?
Start with a recent electricity bill, the property type and the available roof or site information. These details help frame the first assessment.
How will the recommended system size be calculated?
The calculator reads your bimonthly electricity bill, works out your typical consumption and matches it to the nearest WES system package. Cost after subsidy, savings, payback and roof area follow from that package, and a site survey confirms the final design.
What subsidy is available for rooftop solar?
Residential projects qualify for a central subsidy under the national rooftop programme, applied to the quoted price. The amount depends on system size, and eligibility is confirmed during the assessment.
How do I apply for the subsidy?
WES handles the application alongside the installation: registration, documentation and the paperwork the distribution company requires. The subsidy is credited directly to the customer’s account.
What happens during a site assessment?
An engineer reviews roof condition and orientation, shading through the day, electrical infrastructure and the space available for equipment, then records anything that would change the design.
How long does installation usually take?
Most residential systems are installed within a few days once materials are on site. Approvals, metering and commissioning follow their own timelines, which the proposal sets out.
My roof is not concrete. Can I still install solar?
Usually yes. Metal sheet, tiled and elevated structures are all workable with the right mounting design, which the site assessment confirms.
What happens after I submit an enquiry?
The team reviews the details, comes back to discuss the requirement and arranges a site assessment. The proposal follows from what that visit finds.
How long does a rooftop system last?
Panels carry a 30-year performance warranty. Inverters have a shorter service life and are treated as a planned replacement rather than a surprise.
Is maintenance expensive?
Rooftop solar has no moving parts, so routine upkeep is mostly cleaning and periodic inspection. WES covers its own workmanship for five years.
Do the panels need cleaning?
Yes. Dust reduces generation, so panels benefit from regular rinsing, more often in dry and dusty months.
What warranties and ongoing support are available?
A 30-year panel performance warranty, manufacturer warranties on the inverter and a five-year WES workmanship promise, with monitoring and a named route for questions or faults.
